Dr. Brauer received his doctorate in bioinorganic chemistry from Dartmouth (Thesis advisor was Karen Wetterhahn) in 1990 and postdoc-ed with Gerd LaMar and Thomas Jue at UC Davis. From 1994-1995 he was Adjunct professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Biochemistry- organic lab.)

Dr Brauer is the founder of Nanotech Plus, a business consulting firm focused on moving advanced materials from the laboratory to the marketplace. Prior to Nanotech Plus, Dr. Brauer was with the Business Communications Company for 7 years, leading market research on a broad range of advanced materials topics including polymer nanocomposites, carbon nanotubes, advanced polymer composites, smart materials and switchable materials.

Dr. Brauer has numerous publications to his name, and is a sought after speaker at industry symposia.
